The Tempest

Riverside Shakespeare Theatre Co.

Proudly Presents: The Tempest

Set during the golden age of piracy, Riverside Shakespeare’s The Tempest provides suspense, fantasy, comedy, and romance to audiences of all ages. This swashbuckling adventure tells the story of Prospero, a wronged pirate, in search of revenge for the men who have imprisoned him and his daughter on a magical island. Among the men responsible for Prospero’s demise is his brother, Antonio, who is hungry for power and wealth. The deformed monster, Caliban, enlists the help of two humans to regain the island that was once his. Ariel desperately yearns for freedom and The Governor scours the island in search of his lost son, who has been stricken with love for Prospero’s daughter. Each man tries valiantly to claim what he feels is his in the play written by William Shakespeare. The third season for Riverside Shakespeare Theater Company should prove to be the corner stone of an annual tradition in St. Charles.
